At last! Due to Covid restrictions last year, the Awards Ceremony for winners of the 2020 and 2021 Business Book Awards finally took place at Millenium Point Birmingham on 1 March 2022.
Very excited to be invited on stage to receive my Award for ‘Highly Commended’ in the Specialist Business Book Category 2021 for “Rubbing Shoulders With The Best”.
It was a great night meeting other authors who were also there to collect awards or to find out if they had been shortlisted for the 2022 categories.
I was asked in a video interview what it meant to me and how I felt to win this Award. How I felt was immensely excited (probably annoyingly so!) but it did highlight to me that the best part about writing the book, apart from feeling very proud, is feedback I have received showing that it’s helping other people to think about their own businesses and knowing the ups and downs they have experienced happens to other people too. They are not alone and it really is worth persisting, to keep going to achieve their dreams of a successful business.
That’s the point really, it’s achieving something for yourself which you never thought you would do but at the same time, imparting those experiences and knowledge gained along the way, helps other people to strive and achieve their own goals and make their dreams a reality. That’s a great feeling.
